Hi there,
I've been living and teaching in a small town in the central oregon coast since 2020, but looking for a change after this school year. I have a dog named Mogli, he loves people, is well behaved, but is protective of me and can be aggressive around other dogs (there's more nuance, but that's the nutshell version) and would likely need the ability to have a fenced yard wherever we land.
For years, I have been prioritizing my core value of service by working with communities that are under-served, including being a foster parent. I unfortunately haven't found the connection and community I'm looking for, so moving forward, that is my priority. I have some exposure to intentional communities and see this as a promising way to find what I am looking for. I think I have a lot to contribute, too.
I have been a public school educator since 2017 and have a professional teaching license. If there isn't a schooling program in a community, I would be eager to start one. I have training in problem and project-based learning, collaborative learning, positive discipline, and trauma-informed education, and a lot of ideas for how I'd like to see education done differently.
I love being outside or having a close proximity to nature, and walking/hiking is my favorite activity. I am a 200 hr certified yoga teacher. I am intentional about my interpersonal relationships (communication and problem solving) as well as my physical health. But honestly, humor is like, #1. đ
